My name is Angelica Alvarez and I will be your Child's 3rd grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year! I'm coming to you from Braden River Elementary school and can't wait to become a Harvey Shark! I have lived in the Sarasota/Bradenton area for the last 12 years and graduated from the USF Elementary Education program in 2011. I have also received my Master's in Educational Leadership and continue to be a life-long learner! I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade and am looking forward to teaching 3rd grade again this year. My philosophy for education is to inspire students to be life-long learners too! I have a passion for working with children and enjoy challenging them to work to their highest potential. On a daily basis, we will practice being FEARLESS in our learning and how to be resilient when learning gets challenging. My goal is to show students that through the power of hard work and education, they can and will accomplish anything. I also believe that kindness and empathy are powerful things and reinforcing these positive traits along with others helps to develop good character. This is a big part of building our classroom community. We will encourage, respect, and challenge each other each day in our classroom, and by the end of the year, we become a family. I could not be more excited to get to know and work with each of your students and you! I know this is going to be a great school year!

About My Family
My immediate family is my dad and one older brother. My family is very close and I am lucky enough to see them quite often. I have a TON of cousins who live all over in places like California, Chicago, Miami, and even Spain! I have 1 child (dog) named Snoop Dogg, and he is a rascally little beagle that you will hear about ALL the time!
Places I've Lived
I was born in Houston, Texas, where I lived for 7 years. Then my family moved to Atlanta, Georgia for 4 years. After that, my family moved to Dallas, Texas, where I graduated from highschool. When I graduated, I went to college at University of Arizona for 2 years. Finally, I moved to Florida where I graduated college from USF!
